Mexico's
Force F "Zorros"

Force F was created in 1983 by Colonel Ramon Sanchez, then Chief of Mexico's Capitol police, as a force equipped to fight organized crime and narco-terrorism. It has since evolved and taken on the additional missions requiring a force of dedicated counter-guerrillas and anti-terrorists.

Force F, better known as the Zorros, is a 350-man unit based just north of Mexico city. They are organized into three main groups, "urban commando squads", "Emergency Ordinance Disposal Squads", and "Sniper and Marksmanship Squads." Force F is a volunteer force; officers have to undergo a selection process and pass in order to join.

The Zorros use a wide range of weapons in their work. Beretta 9mm pistols are carried. For heavier armorment, M-16A2s, CAR-15s, and HK33 5.56MM assault rifles are issued. The ever-present HK MP5 and Smith and Wesson 12-gauge shotgun are used in building assaults. 30-06 rifles are used by Force F snipers.
